Duke of Edinburgh Award

For the past seventy years, the Duke of Edinburgh award has inspired and transformed the lives of millions of young people from all walks of life. From volunteering to physical activities, life skills to expeditions, achieving a DofE Award is a passport to a brighter future, valued by employers and universities.

Here at Christ the King College we offer all three levels of the award: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Bronze is open to students from Year 9 upwards, Silver from Year 11 and Gold in the Sixth Form. DofE participants meet weekly with their Leaders to train and prepare for expeditions on the island for Bronze, and further afield for Silver and Gold. This year's Silver assessed expedition will be on Exmoor and the Gold in the Lake District.

Once enrolled, participants have until their 25th birthday to complete the award, but Leaders are on hand to ensure participants engage with the award and finish within a reasonable timescale.
