Message regarding the route of service 404 while road diversions are in place.

We have been asked by School Transport to pass on the following message regarding the route of service 404 while road diversions are in place.
 
Please see below for the arrangements that will be in place due to the closure of Main Road, Brighstone from the AM journey of Tuesday 21st November 2017 until the PM journey of Friday 24th November 2017 inclusive. 

Route 404 AM - start from Brighstone Primary School at 0835; all students from stops west of and including Brighstone Three Bishops should go to Brighstone Primary School to join the bus, then it will operate as normal to Christ the King College.

Route 404 PM - operate as normal until Brighstone Church, where the service will turn left and  divert via New Road to terminate OPPOSITE Brighstone Primary School (turn at Wilberforce Road to return to depot).

Privilege Seats - Academic Year 2017-2018 – Open Application Window

This notice is for parents/guardians that would like to apply for a privilege seat for academic year 2017/2018 who did not apply during the first, second or third application windows. If you have already applied for a privilege seat for academic year 2017/2018, you WILL NOT need to reapply. If your child is entitled to free transport, you WILL NOT need to apply for a privilege seat.

Dear Parent/Guardian

Should you wish to apply for a privilege seat for your child to travel on a contracted school bus service you will need to apply from 10am on Monday 23rd October 2017. You will also be able to apply for sixth form students from this date.

Please be aware that applications will be processed and seats allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If it is not possible to offer a seat your child will be added to a waiting list for the service applied for and you will be notified of this.

Do bear in mind that making an application for a privilege seat does not guarantee a seat on the school bus.

Privilege seat ticket prices are set costs as follows.

-          Up to a full term £95.00

-          Up to half term £47.50

-          Up to a full term AM or PM only £47.50

-          Up to half term AM or PM only £23.75

Changes to Buses Due to Road Closure - Thorley Street

Due to the forthcoming closure of the above, please see below for the changes to bus service 327 (which usually serves just Carisbrooke College) and 403 which will be in place from the AM journey on Wednesday 4th October up to and including the PM journey of Thursday 19th October (as far as we have been advised so this end date may be subject to change). Please could all students be made aware. Drivers will also be reminding students travelling back this afternoon.

Service 327 and 403 will be running either side of the closure. Service 403 will operate normal route and times and collect all 403 and 327 students between Freshwater Bay and Wilmingham Lane (Thorley Street junction) then operate direct to school. Service 327 will start from Wellow (Bus Shelter) and collect all 403 and 327 students between there and Calbourne and then on to school.
Closest stops for those living in the closure area would be either at  the end of Thorley Street at the Wilmingham Lane junction or Wellow (Bus Shelter).

PM arrangements will be same as the AM arrangements ie 327 will serve both schools and operate as far as Wellow, whilst 403 will serve both schools and operate via the diversion through Shalfleet to Wilmingham Lane, then to Freshwater Bay.

The AM times for the 327 will be:

Wellow (Bus Shelter)                     0838
Newbridge (Post Office)                0841
Calbourne (Sun Inn)                       0845
Then direct to both schools


The AM times for the 403 will be:

Freshwater Bay                                                              0810
Freshwater (Victoria Rd)                                               0812
Freshwater (Co-op)                                                        0814
Wilmingham Lane End of Thorley Street                      0820
Then direct to both schools via A3054 through Shalfleet

This notice is for parents/guardians that would like to apply for a privilege seat for September 2017 but did not apply during the first application window. If you have already applied for a privilege seat for September 2017, you WILL NOT need to reapply. If your child is entitled to free transport, you WILL NOT need to apply for a privilege seat.

Dear Parent/Guardian

Should you wish to apply for a privilege seat for your child to travel on a contracted school bus service from September 2017 you will need to apply during the second application window which is between 9am on Monday 3rd July 2017 and 4pm on Tuesday 25th July 2017. 

Please note if your child has previously had a privilege seat in academic year ending July 2017, you will need to reapply. Please be aware that this second round application window is for primary and secondary school aged children only and you will not be able to apply for sixth form students. It is important to note that applications received outside of the application window mentioned will not be accepted.

You can only apply for services listed at the bottom of our webpage. Any applications received for services not listed will be rejected and not added to waiting lists. Further information on the privilege seat process can be found online, here:
